Aburai's eccentric behavior had caused her to receive more than one odd look from the other angels. She could not understand why he could not just be with what was given to him. The fact that he had strayed so far from the others upset her greatly. She had heard what they called him, though he had tried to shield her from it. She had not been in the battles, but surely Aburai could not be has bad as to deserve the title of The Red Haired Demon. Her brother was no demon, it was impossible. After hours of searching she had almost given up when she ran into one of the wounded retainers of Ahrimel, the keeper of the house where she and Aburai lived. He was reluctant to tell her, sorrow marred his face and she knew Aburai was not in heaven...Finally he broke down and told her that Aburai had left in the middle of the night with Arhimal and other soldiers to scout possible demon presence around the human city of Midgaard. He had left without telling her! Her anger lasted only a moment before she heard the commotion, angels of the seraphim rushing to the court of the almighty, donned in black...the robes of the judicators. With a prayer of "Aburai please be safe" She ran to get her robes and join the others, she had to know what had happened, it was her duty to appear, Aburai would be alright wherever he was. When she arrived she found Aburai, looking down from Heaven she could see him as he committed his sin. Her breath went out of her. There was only one punishment for this. She was dazed; when she came to, the punishment had been decreed. She watched as her brother writhed and screamed in pain, watched his wings turn black and the bones in them shatter. Her tears were the first to fall that day. She did not speak out against his punishment, he had broken the laws of the almighty, and this was the only fate he could have. She was grateful that he was not sent to Hell with his enemies! Her heart was saddened, but that he would go no lower than earth was some comfort. After the witnessing of the Exile Aubrey spoke to the almighty about making her charge as a Guardian Angel her brother. The courts of angels where hushed, she could feel their glares and smirks without looking up. How dare she take pity on the sinner, she could hear their thoughts, "She will be the next to fall". He was her brother, despite the lack of wisdom in doing so; she felt it was her duty to look after him. She could see the displeasure in the eyes of the almighty and it made the tears spring fresh in her eyes. Though he disagreed with her decision, he said, he would not stop a sister from protecting her brother. Thanking him, she left the courts to find Aburai, she could not let him become what they called him, and she could not let him become a true demon. Even if he wore the shape, she would keep the angel in his heart; she would not allow him to fall so far.
