There are 3 ways to connect to the MUD:
- MUD Client. This is the prefered way to connect
to Project Bob. MUD Clients are designed for playing text based
games such as Project Bob and other types of MUD's. There are
many different clients available with different features from
freeware to pay shareware. Several clients can be found below.
- Java Telnet Client. Telnet is a standard
program that comes with every Windows operating systems and
is designed for remotely connecting to servers. A big disadvantage
is that Telnet Clients are not designed for text based games
such as MUD, MUSH's, MOO's etc. They do provide an easy and
quick way to get a brief taste of the MUD. This is a freeware
Java version which is a little better than the Windows version.

- Windows Telnet Client. This is the basic
telnet client included with Windows. Most older versions do
not support color or other features. It is strongly recommended
you download a client to make your gaming experience more enjoyable.

MUD Clients
Windows:
- JMC
(freeware) - A very simple yet powerful MUD Client.
- zMud
(shareware $29.95) - This is one of the oldest and most supported
MUD Clients out there. Has tons of features and a very capable
client for the advanced user. It offers a free 30 use trial
then users must purchase a full licensed version. Updates are
free for life.
- MUSHclient
(freeware) - Another simple client that is scriptable and easy
to use.
Mac:
- Rapscallion
(freeware) - feature rich MUD Client for the MacOS.
- Savitar
(shareware $18) - another powerful MacOS Client that is well
supported and constantly improving.
