Crafting
Crafting allows players to modify their items in several ways. There are three ways in which this can be done.
The first allows you to spend qp to place new magical enchantments on an item. To find out more see: Enchant
Another way to change the item is by adding gems or imbued stones to it. To start this process use:
craft modify <item>
To find out more about adding gems or stones look at: Gems Stones
It's also possible to change the type of your item. For instance, you could change a sword into a mace. For more information on this read: Convert
Lastly, you can randomly reroll and upgrade the prefix and suffix of your item. Refer to: Roll
Step by Step Guide
1) Find an item with a decent random bonus. At wear level 278+, look for 400+ to a cstat which fits your character Path. 120+ for All-Offense/Defense are good for anyone. You should immediately wear it to increase its age to 10, then bond it.
2) Decide on what enchantments are ideal for you. Elist and Data enchant will be of tremendous help here.
3) Obtain stones of those enchants through:
a) Trading with other players.
b) Imbuing the enchantment onto a different stone. To imbue a stone you must first learn the enchantment you want, that is at 33%+ research complete. Type research list for a listing of enchantments you have researched. You also need a stone, any stone, but preferably a stone of an enchantment you will likely never use as it is destroyed. Type stor stone for a listing of stones that you have. Simply put one into your inventory by typing stor get stone <stonename>. Then type imbue stone <enchantment>. This will change enchantment on the stone permanently.
c) Using a prefix/suffix orb to drain the enchant off a different piece of eq. By default, orbs are stored in your account and you can use stor orb to list what orbs are in storage. These two orbs can be used on any piece of eq to pull its respective prefix/suffix enchantment off and create a stone of it. The syntax is: use prefix <itemname> or use suffix <itemname>. Take care in using these stones as they are very rare and expensive and can be wasted if used on the wrong piece of equipment.
4) Craft the object. Type craft mod <itemname> to enter the crafting menu. Then add <enchantment name> to place the desired stone onto the item. status will show what the item will become if you decide to finalize it by typing make.
5) Infuse the item. An infusion is simply a weak 3rd enchantment on an item, this enchantment can be either a prefix or a suffix which would normally be allowed for the items level and wear location. To get your infusion to full strength, it must reach max age, then you must bond with it then finally use an infusion orb on it. There are 2 ways to infuse an item:
a) Arena wager <itemname> will place the item into the arena winner pot. If you quit out or the game crashes while the item is wagered, the item will be LOST FOREVER. To take your item out of the winner pot simply add a different item instead. Now if you win the next time you arena enter the item will gain a random infusion and be returned to your inventory. Regardless of what league you are in the infusion will always be random.
b) Craft Infusion can be very expensive as it often takes millions of gold per infusion. The infusion is random but seems to yield higher level enchants than arena wagering does. Type craft mod <itemname> to enter the crafting menu, then type infuse. Note that the infusion is not actually permanent until you type make in the crafting menu. You can use this fact to your advantage if you receive a decent infusion but not quite the one you wanted, you can make the item then go back into crafting, if you run out of gold before you get what you really wanted... you can then simply cancel out of the crafting and the item will be restored to the older 'decent' infusion.
6) Apply the most relevant material to the item. data mat can be useful for decided which material to apply to your equipment.
7) Convert the item into your specialized armor type through the crafting menu. (Currently not relevant:A design orb will be needed if the desired type is not the same armor class of the current items.)
