Introduction

A lore tome is divided into numerous pages and each page can hold a series of skills or spells. These are similar to aliases but allow a series of commands to be executed in order rather than just one. Using lore is the same as typing each out by hand (except the bonus level), but can save typing and increase your effectiveness.

Syntax:

lore To see the list of your lore pages and their bonuses.
lore page Allows you to edit your current lore page.
lore page <page number> Allows you to edit the specified lore page.

Editing Lore Pages

The first time you type lore page, or lore page <page number>, you will see the customization fields and below that, you will see: Ability, Cost, Recharge, and Ready. This is where we add the skills or spells to the page. Because the amount of recharge time for spells and skills vary, it is wise to begin with the slowest. The Recharge column makes it easy to tell how soon you should add the same skill or spell again.

Syntax:

       lore lore page
lore help lore page <page number>
  • Example:
Typing lore page 1 shows you this:

Setting your current Lore Page (1).

                 -=[ Lore Page #1 ]=-
Ready(0)
Name: None Display: None
Phrase: None

[ Empty Slot ]
[ Empty Slot ]

Adding Skills and Spells to Lore Pages

The combinations are endless. You only need think about the abilities you most commonly use and put them on a page in that order. You can always interrupt to change things if you want, or keep the pages shorter and have a number of them to choose from. It is also helpful to create pages for specific situations.

Syntax:

lore add <skill or spell name> Add a skill or spell to a page.
lore remove <skill or spell name> Remove a skill or spell from a page.
lore link <spell name> Add a spell and increase its chances of linking
lore power spell name> Add a spell and make it power cast.
  • Example:
Typing lore power incinerate, then lore link inferno adds those
spells to the page: Ready(200) Name: inferno Display: inferno Phrase: None Ability Cost Recharge Ready? ===================[ Total 200 ]============================================== [Power] Incinerate 100 3 Yes [Link ] Inferno 100 3 Yes [ Empty Slot ] [ Empty Slot ]

Customization

Customizing your lore page can help you bring life to your character. You can name the abilities to keep track of them more easily. You can set the display name (in color) and it will overwrite the name of the actual abilities on the page. Everytime you use your lore, you and everyone else will see the display name you chose. Then you can also add a phrase that can add depth to your powers for RP or fun.

Syntax:

lore name <name you can type to execute a lore page
lore display <word that you will see when you execute a lore page
lore phrase <string shown to the room when you execute a lore page>
  • Examples:

Lore Name

Typing lore name explode will mean that you will not have to use the execute
command to activate this page. You will simply type explode.

Lore Display

Typing lore display Poof! will show the word "Poof!" only to you when you have
activated your lore page.

Lore Phrase

Typing lore phrase An explosion rips through the air! will show "An explosion
rips through the air!" to the other players in the room. You can use variables
and color in this field. Using Filter Other's Lore prevents you from seeing the
phrase when other people activate a page.

Result

Ready(200)
Name: explode Display: Poof!

Enhancement

Spending perks in PL Lore can greatly increase the power of the abilities you have placed on a lore page. You can buy perks to increase the number of pages, the length of each page and the level of abilities in the tome.

Execution

Execute begins firing off all the abilities on a specific lore page starting with the top line. Each ability occurs one round after the last. While a page is executing, you will see: (Page #) in your prompt. This helps keep you aware of when your pages carry between mobs. Taking any actions (fleeing, dying, casting etc.) will cancel the current lore page. Once your page is named, you no longer need to use the execute command. Instead you may simply type the name of your page and follow that by the name of the target.

Syntax:

execute Execute your current lore page.
execute <lore page number> <target> Execute a lore page with a target.
execute <lore page name> <target> Execute a lore page with a target.
Typing explode ember (using the above lore page's name) results in this:

An explosion rips through the air!
You utter the words, 'incinerate'
An Ember Fanatic grows in power to match your own!
Your Poof! WREAKS HAVOC on an Ember Fanatic! (4713)
An Ember Fanatic has a few scratches.
